What's the Digital TV? And how is it different from HD TV?
Is it true that a convertor is required in order to watch TV programs in 2009?

All HD channels are already using digital.
Digital is just a different format for the over-the-air TV signals that broadcasters use. In 2009, all broadcasters are supposed to switch over from analog to digital. If you TV doesn’t have a tuner that can handle the new digital broadcasts, you can get a converter. There will be coupons available so you shouldn’t have to spend more than $20.
This only affects you IF and ONLY IF you still use an antenna or rabbit ears to watch TV. Cable and satellite customers are not affected.

basically HD TV is a superior picture and sound quality. Digital TV is basically how the signal is broadcast. for instance, with analogue signals, some of it may be lost and therefore you get interference. with digital, the output is always 1 or 0, if it is 0, you wont get a picture at all, if it is 1, you get all the signal, and none is lost, unlike analogue. You dont need a HD TV come 2009 but you will need a tv that is digital ready, most tv’s being sold from 2004+ are digital ready, and some older ones are aswell. digital tv has been around for a while, but they were also broadcasting analogue signals aswell, since most homes are now up to date, they have decided the analogue signal is no longer needed
i have a converter type thing on mine already. I have a huge lcd screen but it is more like a monitor than a tv. i have to use the cable box or something like that in order to watch tv. it is kinda confusing.
there is only ONE spot for RCA cables. you have to have all these other kind of wires now.
and yeah, it is TRUE. i just got my tv and this was one of things I learned AFTER the purchase
