I'm having a problem finding an affordable battery-powered digital TV.Anybody know where to find one?
I use a B/W portable for weather reports when the power goes out. The new conversion box will need power so my only solution is to get digital portable TV. They are pretty expensive though..any suggestions?
What convertor boxes use a DC power source? I’m having trouble finding info on the boxes.

Contact an establishment that sells mobile homes or RV’s. They will give you this information and anything related to powering up appliances using 12V.

There are no cheap portable TVs that have digital tuners. The best thing to do is wait a year and see what new models show up on the market.
They are never going to be as cheap as some of the old B&W CRT analog portables however.
Some of the cheap converter boxes do use external DC power supplies, so it’s possible to power those with a battery pack. The TV would need to have a connector or either an external antenna or A/V cables to connect the converter to it.
