It’s not the cable provider (well it could be but that would be because of a compression issue and then it is sporadic.
Sounds like you have a LCD TV which has a problem with pixellation because the screen cannot keep up with fast moving objects. LCD tried to fix this issue with 120Hz technology, which is more of a "band-aid" fix than a cure.
Plasmas also suffer from pixellation, but it is very rare and that is more of a compression issue with the cable/sat provider than a TV issue.
I have reviewed many TV’s and done A/B comparsions and most LCD’s suffer from pixellation issues.
I assume Cavalier service is some sort of cable company.
If you have a good, solid signal into your TV, a digital picture is flawless. If you are getting frequent breakup or freezes, you need to contact your cable company and complain. That’s not what you are paying for.
Pixelation is most commonly caused by a weak signal. It could be the cable box, one of the connections could be loose (check that), or your cable company may need to put a booster on your cable line.
I am assuming you are using an HD cable box, because if it’s an SD box, you need to get an HD box and reevaluate the picture quality. SD cannot deliver a good signal to an HD tv. So if it’s an HD box:
If the pixelation only occurs when a very fast moving object is running or driving across the screen, it could be the tv. But a decent LCD receiving an adequate signal should not pixelate.
Call your cable company and have them come to your house and check the strength of the signal at your cable box.
